portal
Add an option to enable portal automatically every time a new subscription is created for a customer. We convert our customers (monthly recurring subscriptions) from Zoho CRM, not a website API. The only way to enable the client portal today is manually for every customer. this is too cumbersome and prone to human error (forgetting).

Add metered Billing
Allow for metered billing based on usage. Create a way to input quantity rate and amount.

Do not allow duplicate email for portal signup for Customers
The issue is if you create a customer with different name but same email then if you activate the customer's portal page then all of his previous record will be erased which can be fixed by using api in code but we are deeply concern because our sales team do not have technical knowledge much and we don't like to take risk too.

Provide ability to modify subscription then regenerate invoice
It would be great to have the ability to update the addons and usage after an invoice is generated at the start of the new term (say as a result of a mistake or failure of the usage collector that was meant to call the ZOHO API) and then have the invoice regenerated (replacing the old one) and if required (as if invoice already paid) an adjustment charged billed or credit note applied to the account

For services such as on demand load balancing a daily and hourly billing option for subscriptions would be nice.

The ability to group invoices on a Product level and/or customer level instead of an all-or-nothing setting.

Possibility to reactivated an expired trial
Nowadays once a trial expires the only possibility that we have on Zoho Subscription is to make a real subscription.
However, there a few times that make necessary to reactivate that subscription (That is common when we're trying to reach big companies).
Zoho Books already do something exactly like that. If your trial has expired, the system offers the possibility extend that trial.
Could you please consider that? ;)

Need Year end tax letter automatically generated for each customer in soho subscriptions.
Being a non-profit org, We need to send tax letter to our subscribers every year. We need functionality in zoho to automatically generate the tax letters and be available for the subscribers to download in their portal account.

Enable billing every X days
In our industry it is standard practice to bill the client not on a calendar monthly basis, but instead every 30 days. Currently it's only possible to configure plans that renew every X weeks, months or years. Please add the option to set up renewal every X days.

Product Specific Terms of Service URLs
I believe the Terms of Service URL should be product or plan specific. If you are selling multiple products, they often have different Terms of Service, especially in the SaaS business.
I know you can add this to the invoice, but terms of service are normally applicable to be agreed to before they sign up.
A Value add would be to be able to apply them to be Customer Specific

Improve changing plan frequency when an invoice is due
Let’s say a customer has subscribed to a 12 month plan. They are due to pay every year on the 3rd March. It has been a year since they signed up so they are sent an invoice for $200 to renew.
If on the 6th March the customer decides to change to monthly billing and pay $20 per month before paying the due invoice, Zoho seems to handle it in a strange way.
Here’s what happens:
…- Zoho creates an invoice of $20 - Zoho credits the customer $200 - Zoho applies the credit to the $20 invoice - There

Subscription Pending
Allows a plan to go into a "Pending" status BEFORE going to 'Live" status. This allows us to review the order and perhaps setup a 3rd party system, or perhaps ship something before we set it to 'Live'.

Free Trial Without Credit Card
Zoho Subscriptions should allow for trial subscriptions to be setup separately at $0 and should not require a credit card for activation.

External ID field on the Customer object
because the Custom Fields array is not populated on a GetList API call (returns null and a seperate API call is required to get Custom Fields) it would be very helpful to have a field on the Customer object for an External ID.
this would mitigate the need for a Custom Field to hold this data and the API would return this value when getting a List of Customers.

Allow for more than one plan per subscription
Allow more than one plan per/subscription. Very important for organizations that have more than one licensing component, and do not want their customers getting multiple invoices.

Assign Subscription Plan to Client Estimate
Allow user to assign (Service) Subscription to ZOHO ESTIMATE with options such as First Billing Date, Subscription Duration, ect.
When Client "accepts" the estimate allow for partial payment for SETUP FEE & Start subscription service on "date"

Add the option to update the sales person field in past invoices generated by Subscriptions, so they show up in Sales by SP Report
I can do this with Invoices generated by Recurring Invoices. Makes it a lot easier to get that information into the Sales by Salesperson report if you forgot to designate the sales person when you created the subscription. Thanks.
