Send invoice before due date
Allow the option to send the invoice before the date that it recurs, so that customers have a set amount of time to make payment before their accounts are suspended. We bill monthly from the 1st of each month, and send invoices on the 23rd. In Zoho Subscriptions this messes things up as it then sets the customer's payment cycle to the 23rd and the pro-rata amounts are all incorrect.

Hi,
is there any kind of positive feedback to this important point?
since it's allowed in Zoho Books to create an invoice in earlier dates, why not allow it from Zoho Subscription?
please advise urgently if this will be in any coming update? -

We wish to automate the recurring invoices so that they are raised on the 1st of the month but this date is not the date the service runs from. This is to enable customers with a credit account to pay prior to renewal. Without this feature we are unable to use the product so I am waiting for this before subscribimg to Zoho

This is an extremely important feature for most organizations. Not all subscriptions organizations invoice the same day as renewal, but invoice prior with terms of payment before the renewal date.
Is there any light at the end of the tunnel that this feature will be added? -

This is so important for our company. It doesn't make much sense that the invoice would be sent the day the subscription expires. There should be a feature that you can set the billing date (which is different from the subscription renewal date). In our case, 30 days prior to the subscription renewal date. Are there any plans to add this feature?

Completely agree. Would also help if we could turn off the prorating functionality, as it causes endless confusion and frustration. Setting up a draft invoice without having to create it, send it, and delete it would be great, as this gets tedious across multiple customers.
Also, can't add multiple Products and Plans...have to wait for the Invoice to combine them in Books. Why?!

THIS IS VITAL for our company! We need to be able to generate the invoice before the subscription date starts, and then send the invoice before the subscription is due for renewal. Our customers have been emailing us confused about why their subscription is starting before they have even paid, it's not good enough unfortunately. We thought we had found a solution but seems like we will have to look elsewhere! Zoho what are you doing about this?

Chargebee has recently released Quotes & Proforma Invoices so that collections across enterprise customers can happen quickly. This is a must-have feature due to:
1. Enables better payment and cash flow as the customer get a proforma invoice in advance to make advance payments for the renewal.
2. For enterprise customers’ purchase-approval processes become easier
3. In current product to achieve this, you have to invoice the customer and if he doesn't renew you have to void the invoice later.
This is the most important feature. Without it being released soon moving to Chargebee would make sense.

We are also in need of a feature to invoice a subscription service before the expiration/start date. We recently created a subscription that is due to start next week, but the customer is requesting the invoice today, currently we are unable to invoice them through Zoho Subscriptions. We would also like the invoices to automatically generate X days before renewal/expiry so customers have time to arrange payments.
It's coming up on 4 years since OP raised this suggestion. Zoho needs to make some moves before they lose their customers. -

Being unable to send invoices prior to the subscription due date has caused a serious shift in our AR. This is a non-starter and we will have to look at other options

Agree with all other comments. A reminder and a possibility to create and send off the invoice in advance cannot be that hard to be fulfilled. This is a show stopper if not...

This is a must have feature for our business as well - need to be able to bill customers one month in advance.

I received the following email from Zoho, so they are aware of this desire from the user community:
We have this idea in our roadmap. But I'm afraid that I cannot commit to a timeframe on this. I'll be sure to notify you once we start working on this.
Meanwhile feel free to get back to us if you have any queries, we would be glad to assist you.

Are we there yet?
This a big challenge for me too. I have to basically let customers pay after the fact which messes up my cash flow big time

I'm very concerned to find that we can't bill in advance. I'm thinking I made a horrible decision to migrate our existing subscription service to ZOHO Subscription. We're an ISP, and our customers need to be billed BEFORE their due date. To make the matter even worse, Zoho Subscription doesn't even offer a way for the customer to make an advance payment and have it automatically tie to their account as a credit or overpayment. To work around this we've got a "Quick Pay" form that customers can use to make a payment and then we have to manually apply the payment as an overpayment to the customer's account. This is not scalable. Most businesses with recurring billing expect their customer to pay BEFORE the due date, not to generate the bill the day that it's due.
I wasn't feeling that bad about this issue until I found this forum and saw that hundreds of other people need this just as much as I do and ZOHO isn't even replying to the thread. If ZOHO doesn't reply to this thread soon I think I will need to move our business elsewhere.

This is a MUST: we definitely need it, preferably on an individual customer basis (not only system-wide)! When will our great Zoho Subscriptions developers give us a development date for this?
WE NEED IT.
