Improve checkout flow for GoCardless payment gateway
To checkout with GoCardless using the hosted payment page the process is unnecessarily long and we have had many customers who have not completed the process completely as they think they have already completed it successfully.
The process goes like this; Complete customer information, click next > view plan summary, select payment method, click next > Redirected to GoCardless hosted payment page, fill out customer information AGAIN, click next, click confirm > Redirected back to Zoho hosted page with plan summary AGAIN, this time displaying a message that says "Successfully verified your Gocardless account" with a green tick and the exact same 'next' button as before.
Customers do not click the next button again, as they believe that have already set up their account. However, they do not infact set up an account until they click the 'Next' button for the second time and eventually get redirected to the thank you page.
I believe the second button-click stage could be eliminated and the customer should be redirected to the thank you page directly from the GoCardless page, if possible. This is an unnecessary, confusing step that is costing us sales.
It also doesn't help that the wording in the button must be exactly the same BEFORE they complete the GoCardless form as it does AFTER it, meaning the customer thinks they do not need to click this button again as they have already done it.
GoCardless also offer an API that pre-populates the fields on their form if the details have already been completed on a previous page. This API does not, however, work in conjunction with the Zoho API. It would also improve the customer experience if we could take advantage of this API also, meaning customers do not need to enter their data twice.
I believe there may be a simple fix to these issues which would lead to a much greater purchasing experience for our customers and a much greater satisfaction from us with Zoho Subscriptions.
