Record timesheets in days instead of hours
This feature will help in creating timesheets as days/month and set a rate/day.

You guys will be waiting a long time. They're not prioritizing based on vote count.

Anyone from Zoho can comment on this? Seems like it has been waiting for years already. Is it in the pipeline at least? Billing by the day would be extremely useful to me as a contractor.

Another solution: transform hours in days and hourly rates to daily rates in the invoice
Some clients require to have number of days * day rates in the invoice

My engineers travel internationally. The rates are fixed daily rates for the job and 50% during travel. Wondering how to use timesheet for same. I will not record hourly rates as my contract is for day rates.

I would also like to have timesheets record by individual service prices...for example, 30 minute dog walk $17, 45 minute dog walk $21, 60 minute dog walk $25.

Project Billing method is only possible by hours. However my project is billed by Day. When the invoice is being generated, instead of having the number of days (as number of units) I have the number of hours worked.
In the igenerated nvoice the quantity reflects the number of hours worked (instead of the days) and the rate is the hourly rate instead of the daily rate.
This change would definetelly help in properly using the creation of Invoices based on timesheets.

I don't know about other countries bu in UK majority of contractors (freelancers) are getting paid daily rate (apart from maybe artists and construction workers). This would be a massive help for all of them (yes, I'm one of them).
There is a workaround where you can set hourly rate for the project that is equal to the daily rate and only record one hour per day but it then looks unprofessional when on the actual invoice the header says "hours" and the quantity of 1 is displayed.

In the Service industry, pay per day is a norm.
Along with, there should be provisions for shifts such as dayshift, nightshift and complete day. -

One of my contracts was paying by the day.
I was recording time start / end using the system. When I went to produce the invoice it could only calculate the total based on hours worked. It would be great to be able to produce time sheets with start & end time but rather than calculating total hours i.e. 11 x $50 it would be capped at 8 x$ 50 to get the day rate. Or something like that.
also, the dashboard shows I'm going to earn more by the hour because of working 9 hours when im only really getting paid for 8. -

This is critical for me as well

I was surprised to find out this isn't already supported. I work in a consulting firm, our time is billed out in days, not hours, and the rates don't always divide nicely by 8 to enter as an hourly rate.

This is critical to invoicing in Australia, I don't want to enter fake times in my timesheets just to equal 8hrs but now I can't generate my invoices in Zoho because they are wrong. Looking for alternative products now for something that should be fundamental to an invoicing program.

I have a similar issue, but I really do not understand where my work will become better or more efficient if I will be able to record my time in 1 day rather than 8 hours.
My vote would be to spend your scarce development time and resources on other things.
More flexible reporting tools that offer configuration of columns, aggregation, layout, etc or even Excel in place functions.... -

Currently only hourly time spent on a project can be booked. Contractor in the UK and probably Europe commonly have contracts where time is booked in whole days at a dayrate. This option really needs to be there as well.
