    I have a similar issue, but I really do not understand where my work will become better or more efficient if I will be able to record my time in 1 day rather than 8 hours.
    My vote would be to spend your scarce development time and resources on other things.
    More flexible reporting tools that offer configuration of columns, aggregation, layout, etc or even Excel in place functions....
