Please implement deposits
I understand we can use the retainer system. But that is a pain because you have to essentially create two invoices, link them up, etc. etc. It's also confusing for clients. A better solution would be to have a field that is similar to adjustments where you can enter in a percent and once they pay it, the invoice will be marked as partially paid. When work is complete, you just send the invoice again and they can pay the remainder. One workaround is to allow partial payments and add a custom field that shows the deposit amount, but then clients have to enter that amount in by hand, which also gets a little pushback. I suppose another option would be to edit the invoice after they've paid it, or just invoice for the deposit and then clone the invoice to invoice again, but that's really doubling the work, same as using retainer invoices is.
Anyway, as it is now, it's extremely clunky to use if you request deposits.

I wish Zoho actually cared about implementing the deposit feature. They've given customers the run-around for 11 years. It was coming then, and they say it's coming now... but nothing! I think they have their roadmap and are completely unwilling to stray from it.
