deposit feature on invoices needed desperately. Please pay a deposit of 10% by _____ choose date
You guys need to have this:
A deposit field that states:
Please pay a deposit of 10% by _____ choose date
This should then be calculated by the total amount.
The Retainer feature is double handling and a very, very basic way of asking for money with little or no details on it like an invoice.
This is stopping me from signup and changing from freshbooks. !

Need a line that fills in how much of a deposit was paid on the invoice.
Our customers always pay a deposit. When I send them a final paid in full invoice, they think I have charged their card double since there is no note of a deposit being paid previously. -

I just want to be able to make a regular invoice and then to have a field for deposit percentage amount and then zoho to do the formula to show the deposit amount and the due date.
thats not too much.
Look what my calendar can do here.

It is a lazy invoice, totally useless.

This is already possible, just hidden. Go into your settings (Preferences) and turn on retainer invoices. It's fantastic. Retainer invoices are tracked separately and the correct steps are done for you. This is even better than a "down payment" way of handling it such as freshbooks and quickbooks does..

Looking into this further. You can make retainer invoices: https://www.zoho.com/us/books/help/retainer-invoice/retainer-create.html

This is the only feature that i'm missing when compared to Freshbooks as well. It is critical to anyone that does business on a contractual basis with a down payment.
