Client Portal Ordering
Allow customers to log in to the Client Portal to place an order (basically create their own invoice). This would send a notification of the order request that could be accepted by the company and then fulfilled.
As an example, I use Zoho Invoice for my consumer products company to sell wholesale to retailers & distributors. It would be great if they could use the portal to make reorders of the items they are selling through.

Since you can setup recurring invoices, it would seem to make sense to allow the customer to do this from within their portal.

This is essential. It is a major failing of Zoho that customers cannot log in to the portal and place orders. A good system would also show stock levels so that a customer does not place an order for an item that is OOS.
I do hope this comes into play soon, or at least a feature whereby an Online Order Form can be placed onto the Portal so the customer can log-in and complete.

Receiving an order/requirement from my customer is the first step in the trade process. Even after i opted for zoho books my customers has to call me to place an order. The customers may choose to call after business hours or in lunch hours, Holidays, or while iam driving. It takes a longer time for both of me and my customer to manually narrate the list of products required thru phone call. Also the chances of errors are more. And after that i have to sit in zoho books to type/prepare a proforma invoice (Estimate in zoho books) for the customer.
Instead of all this trouble, i would like to have an order form in my client portal which can be filled by my customer from his login and that can reach me. (The order form should display the items i trade.) I should be checking it, can able to make the changes and convert it to a proforma invoice and send it back to my customer. And then asusual he can pay the amount and i send the products to him with the sales invoice.
This small feature in clients portal can save a lot of time and manual work in the trade business. And it actually fulfills the purpose of the customer portal in zoho books.
I request the zoho team to add this feature and make zoho more customer friendly and save our productive time.

This is a much needed feature. i would want my clients to be able to submit a custom form to start off a new project and once the project is done we should be able to convert it in to a invoice with an amount.

This is a fantastic idea. We are a software company and it would so much easier if our clients can login to the portal and order additional licensing or services whenever they wish and have them pay for it straight away. This seem like such a natural next step as far as new portal features are concerned.
