Profit report by project
As time entries are linked to projects, invoices, expenses and bills should also be assigned to projects. That way a profit report by project could would also be possible.
Hi,
We now have the option to run Profit and Loss reports based on Projects.
You can go to Profit and Loss report and click on the customise option, you will see the option to select a Project there.

The fact that I can't go to a Zoho project, add revenue, costs, expenses and what not is COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. What is the POINT OF A PROJECT? TO KNOW WHAT WE MAKE ON IT!!!!!!!!

I would suggest a report which shows me the break of the total sales and the bills and expenses against each of my sales, by which I will able to know by each project how much profit I made. I m not talking about the profit and loss by project basis , I need a report Comprising all the projects sales and expenses of it

Is it possible to generate a report for the whole projects by showing total Expenses ,bills and its total, and whats the total amount of invoice, and its should show whats the profit or loss we have made by amount and whats the % of loss or profit it, I am not talking about one project, i am talking about one excel sheet comprises of the project we have executed in the month and quarter or in a year

It looks like you have to code the project information by line item on an invoice or PO. After entering a line item, click on the ... and add additional information. You can code the project here. While I think this is a useful feature if you are buying items for multiple projects on one PO, there really needs to be an option to bulk assign the project to all items on a PO. We have some POs and Invoices that have well over 50 line items and it is a huge time suck to manually code each line.

I would like to have this option as well. I am surprised it takes so long to implement this. I also do not understand why there is a section on projects that says "Purchases" and has a section for Expenses, Bills, Purchase Orders, however I only saw a way to implement an expense to the project. The purchase orders/Bills still have no way to add them. Talk about confusing.

is there not a way to take a sent invoice, that has been paid and assign it to a project? I've noticed the projects unless I invoice under it does not catch the invoices. Part of the issue is under projects it dumps the line item but then actual vendor costs. so unless I log a ton of hours it's worth less.

For this to work any costs would also need to be assigned to a project as well as invoices as mentioned.
It should then report on estimated v actual

Zoho needs some serious management accountants to be their in your team. For your kind information still we cannot define project profitability.
Why zoho consider that there are only service oriented companies in the world. What about the companies that sold inventory.
How can i associate my inventory sales invoices to a specific project?

There is no project field on invoices. Therefore how can we add individual invoice to a project, as this is possible to do in estimates ?

You would surely be regretting as i am regretting. There is no project costing in zohobooks and they would not release this feature in near feature.Zohobooks team is the most silly team ever happened. They do not notice that they are missing the whole market that works on projects.
I am 1000% disappointed with zoho just not having project costing feature.

After reviewing this string of comments for the 2nd most requested enhancement I am concerned that this has been under review for over three years with no progress. So far, I like the software and features. That is why I signed up. I hope I do not come to regret my decision.

Currently have QB and going through the zoho trial. One thing I can say is that there is no reason to have a project option and not be able to assign invoices, expenses and bills. Going through this idea form makes reconsider what I am paying for QB.
