Profit report by project

As time entries are linked to projects, invoices, expenses and bills should also be assigned to projects. That way a profit report by project could would also be possible.

        We are very happy using the tagging method for this, however, now that we can add customer and projects into invoices and bills, please add the filtering for this in the P&L report section--voila then we are good to go!
        One nitter: Can you also add the customer projects to the journal entries? We can pull down customer but not the projects. Using tags for now but will need this also included in our P&L reporting.

        Report tagging still is the best solution right now especially until we can also run P&Ls that include journal entries towards a project (only customer pulls down right now). So happy with the progress that has been made, thank you!

        Im on a trial version, and Profit by projects will surely make my financial reporting easier. i will surely subscribed if ZOHO has a feature that cater profit report by projects.

        Soooo close, we can now add client & active project in Vendor Bills put the P&L report does not currently allow those fields for filtering. Almost there!

        Under review since July 9, 2015? Let's get this one done!!!

        We need to track profit by customer/project for our business. Zoho is so close - just need to add the Account/Project to Purchase Orders and Bills. Then reports can be run on a Per Account or per Project basis.

        ZOHO expenses already does this - just add the functionality to the Bills.

        For instance, PO's UPS expenses, and other direct expenses are attributed directly to a discrete project. We need to monitor the project profitability so we can understand our gross margin and make any adjustments as necessary.

        We do 1000's of projects per year - so automating this reporting is critical.

        We look forward to your favorable decision to add this functionality.

        This can be achieved by using tags in Zoho Books and then exporting to Zoho Reports. Work with a Zohopartner to get this configured correctly.

        I have found in recent weeks that now we can add a customer into Vendor Purchase Orders. By associating to a customer we ~can (not ideal) create a customer record for each job (QBO currently has this work around also) and then associate expenses to a job by that customer record. The ability to tag bank transactions (expenses) to a job is also working but the REAL issue now is the reporting of that data. There are numerous & time consuming limitations for reporting P&Ls by job, we currently track on XL. ESPECIALLY in the reimbursed expenses arena. We are sorry to have to consider other options for our financials at this point.

        I'm currently evaluating Zoho for a customer, and the ability to allocate expenses in the form of POs is a "must have" for them, and will prevent me from going live.

        I do not agree with the comment "For professional service business this feature is not needed, (as all they sell is time)."
        We are a Professional Services business and our Partners track client project costs -Employees, Contractors, Specialists and expenses against each Job.

        For professional service business this feature is not needed, (as all they sell is time).
        However, for Engineering and Construction sectors, it is a MUST.

        As a Zoho Partner we have several customers requesting this feature. Most are making purchasing decisions on items like this not yet built in Zoho Books. Please can this item be reviewed and added to the road map. It would appear many other customers also require this functionality.
