Cashflow forecasting Reports
Is it possible to add some forecasting reports so we can get a picture of future months & years based on existing data within Zoho Books?
There would be the option to select which data such as recurring Invoices or Expenses or budgets are included in the Cashflow forecast (or Projection) report?
I'm new to using Zoho books but would like accounting software which allows a future look at the business.
Ideally the report would also allow us to
Define if we want to include
Only certain aspects of the business such as certain customers.
As an example elsewhere I've heard that Xero (a competitor accounting software) as add ons available to allow forecasting, such as Vistr which is free.
Could you implement features such as this, or collaborate with a company such as Vistr?
Thanks.
Hope this is a popular idea and you can work on it soon as I've seen such requests going back a couple of years.

I am also a fan of Zoho so far, but without forecasting Zoho Books is almost useless for me. Which company doesn´t need a 12months to 3 years forecast? This should be added asap. Thanks for the different suggestions here, though. I will have a look at them.

I have a simple idea / protocol to achieve this CRITICAL feature. For each bill, you add a field called "projected payment date". By default it is the due date but you can manually adjust it. Do the same to customer invoices. This way it is very easy to plot a cash flow forecast.
Actually this is exactly how I run this today - manually off the data in Zoho Books. -

Cash flow forecasting is critical. We'd like to migrate to Zoho Books from Sage 50 which has a nice cash flow forecasting tool (called cash flow analysis: https://my.sage.co.uk/public/help/askarticle.aspx?articleid=18291). The best feature there is that you can adjust your forecast by eliminating some future income items or expense items--or change the date they will be received/paid. As you select and deselect these items, the graph updates instantly, which makes planning much easier. You can even add hypothetical items (e.g. estimated payroll expense) and they will affect the graph as well.

It should be easy, just to flag the estimated future incomes and expenses and paint in a different colour. Big improvement with low effort.

The lack of a more comprehensive feature to manage cash flow is a non stop to implement ZOHO BOOKS. Cash flow is the heart of any responsible company. As a big ZOHO fan I am sad with that.

Well this idea sure is worth implementing but there is much more detailed future cash flow forecasting available at Xenplan.com as I have sign up for their beta software for free. A must use software I suggest.

Really important and necessary feature that is missing from Zoho Books. I have started using Zoho Books as my accounting software, but would be willing to switch if I can find a software that offers this feature - that's how important it is!
