Add Employee Field on Expenses
Will be great to add Employee field in the setting to add all employee name and ID# and in the expenses we can choose between this expenses for customer or employee with dropdown list of employee names to assign the expenses to employee such as salary or any other benefits
28 votesHi all, We now have the option to associate employee to expenses. You will have to enable this option under Preference > Expense > Associate employees to Expense. When you create the expense, you will have the Employee option where you can add and manage the employees.

Have chapters in estimates and invoices
When you have long estimate, it is important to divide it in chapters for the customer. An estimate with 30 position without chaptering is very difficult to understand for the end customers. With chapter, and subtotal per chapter, it is easy to understand estimate from construction for instance.

For categorising the items in the transaction, we have the option to add Item Headers in the Estimates, Invoices and Recurring Invoices. Create Invoice > Add Item Header(below the item table)
However, we do not have immediate plans to implement the subtotal under each header section.Regards,

I would like to notify my clients via SMS for the following:
Balances
Amounts due
New Invoices
General Messages and notifications.We could purchase SMS credits or prepay for credits which we will use.

You can use this for creating the below as of now-
- Invoice Notification
- Automatic Payment Reminder
- Payment Thank You (this option will be enabled by default to all Users)

Bank Charges for International Vendor Payments
When paying Vendors, especially International ones, there's always a bank charges involve. There should be a separate box to enter this figure on the payment page.
At the moment, I have to go to 'Bills', then create a separate bill for these bank charges. I feel it will be faster to simply be able to enter the bank charges at the same time when the payment to the Vendor is being made.

We have added the Bank charges field for vendor payments. This bank charge is exclusive of the amount paid to the vendor.
As of now this field is not available for the Indian, UK, KSA and UAE editions as these regions apply a tax for bank charges.Have a great day.

Option to record Bank charges is required while recording the payment of the Bill:
Record the payment from customer: when we select the invoice to record the payment, the option to record bank charges is available but when we record the payment of the bill there is no option to record bank charges.

Report > Account Transaction > To add Description next to Transaction Details
This feature allow user to see the description of transactions. For example, a transaction was committed to account "Repairs and Maintenance" but need to show more information for this transaction like it was a renovation the office or air conditioner maintenance.
This helps user to track & match the details of transactions with local records on PC.

We now have the option to include the description field in the Account Transactions Report
To do so, please go to Reports→ Select the Account Transaction Report→ Click on customise report and include the description field by clicking on the +icon → Run the report.

Submission of UK VAT Returns to HMRC
Most accounts packages can submit VAT Returns online to the government gateway. It would save time and errors if Zoho Books could do it too.

Enable addition of project field in invoices.
Add ability to pick a project on sales invoice and bills. Not just raise an invoice by going through timesheet mode.
If you have a batch of expenses/bills to add, you have to keep chasing timesheet, project name, raise expense. This could be improved by the addition of a project field in the main invoice/bill templates.58 votesHi all,

More Email Templates
It would be great if we could create various email templates for Estimates, Invoices, etc.

Except for Bills, Vendor Credits and Expenses, multiple email templates can be created for all other Sales and Purchase transactions in Zoho Books. To do so, go to Settings→Email Templates.

Departments and/or Locations
Allow transactions/reports by department/location. In my case I have an engineering business and a farm that I run together but need to be separated out for the taxman. Other users may have several shops (for example).

Mark invoice as sent without sending
When creating an invoice sometimes you do not have a customer email address but need to set an invoice as sent to show against the account. At present you have to "send" the invoice or go back into it to mark it as sent. I think it would be a great option to have an additional button to "Save & Mark Sent".
Also when using the API if the send parameter is set to true it should mark the invoice as sent when there is no email address set for the client.

You can participate in the MTD Pilot by signing up for it from the dashboard. credit options
Hi,
Many a times, vendors offer credit to the business and it is bound by a limit and a duration. Vendor payments should be shown as overdue when either the defined limit overshoots or the credit duration expires. This feature is available in QuickBooks as a standard and is very helpful while creating purchase orders, so that we are aware of when actually I need to pay my vendor and help in managing the finances in a better way.

We have added the option to set a Credit Limit for customers. When the credit limit is exceeded, you can set the option to restrict from creating/editing an invoice (or) show a warning message and continue creating/editing the invoice.

Return to Supplier / Return to Vendor
I would like to be able to create a Returns Note for returning goods to suppliers/vendors. Then when the supplier/vendor provides a credit note to convert this to credit note against the supplier/vendor.
This would be like Purchase Orders and Bills, but in reverse.
So I can track all return to suppliers and when the credit notes are raised.

We have the vendor credits option that helps you track the money you’re owed until it is either paid by said vendor at a later date i.e refunded, or subtracted from any future bill amount due to that vendor.

To print all the outstanding statements for a contact, navigate to the particular contact >> click on the statement tab >> Filter the statements to ‘Outstanding’ >> print the statement.

Resize the logo in the invoice
For me, the logo in the invoice is way too big and distracting. Unfortunately there's no way to scale them down.
