update invoice date when sending invoice
We will often create an invoice while work is being done, but not send it until the job is completed. This may be several weeks later.
It has occurred a number of times now that we sent an invoice, and just a couple of days later, the late payment notice was triggered because we did not update the invoice date when changing from draft to live invoice.
Of course, this is not very good . . .
At the very least, a warning message to update the invoice date would be very useful.
Or it may make sense to change…

Keep main account maintaining all the accounts, but have an option that each account can access only its invoices and do not be involved into other invoices.

Takeout invoicing for those who don't need it.
Many businesses don't need an invoicing based system. Restaurants, bars, retail stores. Where products are bought and sold in the moment. As a bar owner I want to see reports and features based around expenses and daily transactions.

Bring back the ability to indicate tax deductions in invoice payments
This functionality was available in the US edition until a couple of months ago, but it disappeared without notice or a workaround. On April 29 I was promised it would be reinstated but it hasn't been yet.

permission for template
I need multiple templates, however I do not want to make all of them available for everyone to use. For example, I used a different template for the invoices that I IMPORTED from another CRM, to make them stand out in case we need to research the data for some reason. I would at least like to be able to mark a template as INACTIVE so that my users could not use that template going forward.

Be able to track sales agent and production staff member who did the work.
I would like to be able track which person brought the client to the firm (sales agent) in terms of dollars collected by the client and track who did the work (staff member). An owner may bring a client to the firm (sales agent) but may not do the work; we need to measure value of who grows the firm as well as who did the work (for bonuses).

Add more criteria choices to "Edit Custom View" on Invoices and Estimates.
It would be nice to have some more control when i'm in the "Define the criteria" section of the Custom View Editor, At least ad the "or" function instead of just "and" .

More grouping options when generating invoices from time sheets
More grouping options would be very useful when generating an invoice from timesheet entries. In particular I would like to be able to group hours by project by week and project by month. Task by week/month might also be useful.

Notes
This is a suggestion applicable for both Sales Orders and Invoices.
I would like to see a simple function whereby on the list of both sales orders and invoices, wherever a note is applied to a specific invoice/sales order, a small icon is shown on the list of sales orders and invoices.
This just serves to demonstrate which invoices or sales orders have notes assigned to them.

Search creates so much work for me, due to it does not understand the need for allowing duplicate org names. Add other searchable fields!!!
Used SalesForce for 10 years. We have hundreds of Religious Organizations with the same name. When I'm creating invoices or recurring invoices I literally must open at least 3 screens to make sure I have the correct client. 1 screen consisting of the report im running from zoho CRM (which i dump into excel), another screen in zoho BOOKS (which also opens a long list of hundreds of the same name clients that i have requested. And another zoho CRM screen where i do searches on my unique account number. Something that should take seconds turns into a 15 minute…
