    i am currently doing my own workaround for this and i cant believe i am having to do it myself.
    has this been reviewed - are we going to get it any time soon?

    this is a huge oversight that it is not present. i would even benefit from a staged rollout on this. even if you just added the fields against the items there would be a proper place to store it rather than custom fields. that way when i enter the data at least i am entering it in the right place rather than having to migrate from custom field to data field at some point in the future.
    good call on composite items!
    it needs unit of measure to go with it as well.
