Add Arabic Language
Making the Zoho Invoice supporting the Arabic language

We have an option called Custom Template and it supports Arabic characters. It’s like a HTML editor using which you will be able to design templates in the format you prefer.

Hosting on your own Subdomain
It would be a great add-on feature if we'd be able to host the invoices on our own sub-domain. [xyz.oursite.com vs https://invoice.zoho.com/portal/oursite]
There are other providers that offer this functionality via a DNS forward. It would be a fantastic branding tool.

Add columns to an invoice
I want to be able to add column headings to an invoice. For example, we already have a column for 'quantity', but I would like a column for 'size'. I want this column to follow through to a purchase order and a packing slip too.

Better deposit system
I have some clients when doing web design who give a deposit. I would like to be able to add the deposit and then be able to apply invoice items to it as work and expenses are completed.
For example a client pays $1000 deposit.
I perform 10 hours work at $50 an hour. I create and invoice and apply the deposit to the invoice so now the deposit sits at $500. etc.
I have tried the retainer invoice but do not quite find the usefulness of it as i cannot apply it to work done. Even if it could…

Retainer invoice would be the right way to go about this. By creating a retainer invoice from within the project, the retainer invoice would be linked to that project, fulfilling your needs. To know the exact steps, you can refer this help document as well :)

Viewing Invoices
When viewing an invoice I would love to click up and down to view the next invoice or previous invoice from the same customer. Currently I have to re-click on customers name and then go through invoice list to view the next or previous invoice.

After switching to the ‘Invoices’ section, if you type the customer’s name in the search bar on the top and hit Enter, the invoices belonging to that customer alone will be displayed.
Now, you can easily toggle between his/her invoices with a single click!

Automation of discount or Early payment discounts.
Need an option to offer discount if the customer pays early.

In Zoho Invoice, you can set up a custom function and execute it using a workflow rule so that when the invoice is paid within the due date, the specified discount will be applied and if the invoice crosses the due date, the discount will be removed.

Original invoice attachement included with reminder
The reminder emails do not give us the option to include the attachment that we uploaded on the original invoice.

In your Zoho Invoice preferences (Settings > Preferences > General), if you enable the option ‘Attach PDF file with the link while emailing the invoice & estimate?’, the invoice PDF would automatically be added as an attachment to the reminder emails.

Better placement of ship-to address in templates
On all but one of your templates, adding a ship-to address places it below the bill-to address, which is poor use of space and would often add an unnecessary extra page to invoices. On the template 'Minimal' the ship-to address is shown side by side with the bill-to address, which looks much more professional - it would greatly improve your other templates if they did the same.

In Zoho Invoice, we do have templates (Eg: Spreadsheet, Spreadsheet Plus etc.,) that display the billing and shipping addresses of the contact side-by-side on the invoice PDF.
Please click on Settings > Templates > Invoices > +New to try these templates.

Invoice Date Sorting
When sorting invoices by date, if there are multiple invoices created on the same date it should be sorted by date and time they were created.
Currently it seems random and does not take time into account, which is very annoying. This leaves me with mixed bag results in no particular order if I issued many invoices in one day (all invoice from that day are randomly mixed together). They should always be sorted in full chronological order.
This seems like more of a bug fix rather than a feature request.

We would like to clarify that if you set the ‘sort order’ to be based on ‘Created time’, the invoices created on the same date would be arranged based on the time they’re created.

Overdue payment reminder emails to all unpaid invoices at one click.
Able to send payment reminder (Custom template) to multiple customers in one click. which should include the invoice as pdf as well. Also another feature to calculate interest on overdue on/from set date on set interest rate per day or per month basis.

We are glad to let you know that both these functionalities are possible in Zoho Invoice.
1. Reminding multiple customers about overdue invoices:
- In the “Invoices” section, set the filter to “Overdue”.
- From the list of overdue invoices displayed, select the ones which you want to remind amount (using the checkbox to the left of each invoice). After selecting, you would have the “Remind” button on the top.Note: The payment reminder will have the invoice PDF as an attachment.
2. Calculating interest (late fee):
This is possible using custom function automation. Please take a look at this link (Scenario 2)

Easy Printing monthly invoices
Each month I have to select and count 25 checkboxes in order to select this months invoices for printing and saving to my harddisk.
I would like to select all invoices at once and then print and save them without counting to the current 25 invoices.

Thank you for posting on our feedback forum. For this requirement of yours, we do have a simple solution:
1. You can use the “Advance search” option in Zoho Invoice to filter the invoices created in a particular month.
2. Now, scroll down to the bottom of the page and set the “invoices per page” limit as 25.This way, you can select the invoices 1-25. print/download them, move on to the next page > Print and so on.

Have the ability to customize the invoice email template to include a total balance for all invoices. currently you can only have the balance of the the current invoice.

Yes ! You can now display the overall balance a customer owes, in your email templates. All you have to do is insert a placeholder. To do this
- Go to Settings > Email templates > Invoice notifications ;
- In the right, you could see the available email templates. Hover to the email template you’re using now and choose ‘Show mail content’ ;
- The following screen is a preview of how your invoice email would appear. Now place the cursor in the body of the email and select Insert placeholders ;
- From the list of placeholders displayed, choose Customer balance. Now you could see the placeholder CustomerBalance in the email template, which would display his/her overall pending amount.Alternatively, you could give them client portal access so that they themselves can login to their portal and see the balance amount.

Attach a standard document to an invoice template
We want to include an attachment to every invoice we send out but we don't want to have to manually attach the doc every time. Can you develop a feature for this?

You can now attach files directly to the email templates :)
- Move to Settings > Email templates > Invoice notifications ;
- In the right, the list of invoice email templates would be displayed. Hover to the one you are currently using. Next to the ‘Show mail content’ option, you would find the ‘Attach File(s)’ option ;Once you attach a file to this section, it would be added as an attachment to all the invoice emails you send out.

You can make use of the “Custom views” in the Invoices modules to create separate views for each sales person. This way, you can view the list of invoices in which a particular sales person is associated.

Clone an Item
I would like to see an option to Clone an item, on many occasions I have the same line of text with a single change in that line, it would be easier and quicker to clone a line rather than create it form an item and then copy and paste the details in.

Yes, you can very well clone your items in Zoho Invoice and save a lot of time :) Just navigate to the ‘Items’ module, click on the particular item and choose the “Clone item” option at the bottom.
