I agree, this needs to be implemented and would be fairly straightforward. The ability to classify income and expenses, and then be able to run reports by class would be very valuable. Reporting tags do not support the needed capabilities. For example:
A company which owns 10 rental properties would like to classify income accounts based on the particular property that expense or income was derived. The accounts are the same, Rental Income, Maintenance Expense, Utility Expense, etc. At the end of the year, taxes require each residential rental be filed on an individual tax form, so a report of profit/loss by classification is needed.
