Update Drop Shipping - Allow for back order tracking
The current workflow for drop shipping, while helpful, is over simplistic. There are times when a drop ship may not be in stock at the vendor, so there is in fact a backorder in place before the vendor fulfills the order.
Currently, when a drop ship is raised the system automatically marks the sales order as shipped. In the event that a B/O is in effect at the vendor, theres no way to track this and it is misleading in the system as it seems as though the order shipped when it didn't.
I would like to see a change where the drop ship sales order shows the drop ship icon, it can continue to block the "packed" icon, but does not say shipped until either the bill is raised from the drop ship vendor or, preferably, a method is put in (or perhaps a button) that allows you to mark the drop ship as fulfilled and a tracking # entered.
Then the sales order can move to shipped status, when the vendor has confirmed to actually have shipped the item.
Set drop ship > SO marked but does not show shipped > raise bill or new method add tracking > SO updates to shipped.
