Returns and Exchanges
Returns and Exchanges are essential part of now days online retail .All systems out there provide this basic functionality
1)Create Return ->On Sales order ,provide additional action under more to create a Return ,which will copy all data from Sales order either with Warehouse (selction for inspection ,damaged etc)at header or line item level),post the return with correct Financial documents
2)Exchange ->On Sales order ,provide additional action under more to create a Exchange ,should allow to receive the old item back in warehouse and add new one to go out to customer, considering any prices differences between original sent and exchanged item(credit and debits to customer account which can be settled through additional refund or invoice for difference)
The sales return has been released in Zoho Inventory. Please follow the link below for more details.

Comon guys! This is a pretty basic function. It should already be there... Personally, I won't be able to user that system without that! What a mess.

We give our customers the products on consignment basis and they return the items that do not sell all the time, so we need to have the returns and exchanges reflected and managed just like the sales orders.

The current work-around as suggested by Zoho is totally unacceptable as it does not account for sales tax at all. As suggested, you would end up remitting sales tax for the returned goods and never recovering for them.
