Hide Inactive Customers/Projects.
It would be great to be able to hide inactive customers and projects. My business has a medium turn over for clients for when we try to add time to the time sheet or creating invoices, the list of clients and projects is long. It would be nice to have the list shorter to only show active customers.

We would like to clarify that once a contact has been marked ’Inactive", it is not possible to create any kind of transaction for that client.
In the Contacts tab, if you choose that contact, you can only see the “Mark as active” option. Only if it is chosen, you can have further transactions with him/her.
Also, inactive customers won’t be listed while creating transactions.

Date format
The date format is Day / Month / Year. However in America we used Month / Day / Year. There is no way to customize or overwrite this, so I have to export a PDF and manually edit it every time. Very frustrating.

Make Footer Layout Customizable
I can't customize my footer layout. For example, I need a template that doesn't show "Notes" and "Terms and Conditions", but I don't have the option to not shown them in the PDF.

Greetings from Zoho Invoice!
You can hide the “Terms and Conditions” field by editing the template preferences (Settings > Templates > Invoices > Edit).
You would not be able to hide the “Notes” as of now, but instead, you can add the content either as footer content or as annexure, which are template-specific.
So, you can have two different templates, one with the content (added as footer content or annexure) and one without. Based on your needs, you can quickly change the template of the invoice and send them.

filter function at item page
We have about 1000 products in the system, therefore we found finding the right item and modify is extremely difficult. As at the moment, there is only option of 'active inactive all'
It will be brilliant if the item can be fished out by entering the product name.

You can very well filter an item using its name. if you move to the Items module and enter the item name in the Search bar on the top, the system will show the results based on the item name entered.

In Zoho Invoice, though you cannot set up calendar reminders, we believe the automated payment reminders can help with this requirement. Once the automated reminders are configured, you or your clients can be notified according to your preference.

download Estimates in excel
Although 90% of the time download estimates as a PDF are great our customers often ask for our estimates in Excel so they can import them into their systems this would be very useful

Thanks for bringing up your requirement. There are 2 ways to achieve this:
1. You can export the estimates in CSV/XLS formats and filter the estimates of a particular customer from the exported file.
2. You can create a custom view so that only the estimates that belong to that customer are listed. After that, you can choose the “Export current view” option to export that list alone as a CSV/XLS file.

Warn that the website must reload BEFORE user clicks something
New features are released on Zoho regularly (good job guys!), and when they are, the website needs to be reloaded. But currently there is no indication of this until you try to take an action on the website, for instance logging time in the timesheet (click #1). Then a popup warns that the site must be reloaded, and gives you a reload button (wait for popup, click #2). After reloading, you then must try your action again (wait for reload, click #3). It seems like a small thing but this is frustrating when you're just trying to get something done…

Add Unpaid as a Invoice Status for filters
When creating a custom filter this is not one for Unpaid. There should be one for that too.

While creating custom views in Zoho Invoice, even though there is no single status as ‘Unpaid’, you can set the condition as:
’When the invoice status is “Sent” OR ’When the invoice status is “Overdue”. This would list all the unpaid invoices.Kindly give this a try and share your feedback to support[at]zohoinvoice[dot]com

Non Exclusive setting for Discount, one should be able to discount item wise as well as on total

In Zoho Invoice, you can apply a pricelist to the item to mark down its price and then add an invoice-level discount to further reduce the overall invoice total.

Custom fields preset values
It would be nice to be able to set default values for custom fields and define lists of possible values to select by a pull down menu or autocomplete.

In Zoho Invoice, we have introduced a newer version of custom fields where you can have more than 3 custom fields easily and can set a default value as well.

import timesheet

You can now easily import timesheets into Zoho Invoice.
- Move to the Timesheet tab and click on the tiny gear icon on the top right (the one next to ‘Log Time’ ;
- Now, go for the ‘Import Timesheet’ option ;
- In the page that follows, you can upload your CSV/TSV file and import timesheet.P.S : To know the format in which the timesheets has to be imported, you can download a sample CSV file from the same page.

hide inactive tasks in timesheet log
In Timesheet, when logging time, inactive tasks should not appear in the list of tasks dropdown.

If you don’t see the ‘Estimates’ module on the left pane of your Zoho Invoice (which is used to create quotations), please choose Settings > Preferences > General and enable the ‘Estimates’ module > Save.

Credit note used
I created a credit note for a customer but it is for invoices created on another app prior to using Zoho, the previous app did not have a CN feature. Now the credit has been taken by the customer however there is no way to show it as having been used apart from voiding it.....?
Is there any way to show it as being applied outside Zoho for accounting purposes and remove it as an outstanding credit for the customer.

For your requirement, you can very well record a refund for the credit note and that should suffice.
Yes! To tell the system that you’ve paid the money back, there are two ways:
1. Applying the credit note amount to an invoice
2. Recording a refund.Either way, the credit note amount would be subtracted from the client’s “Unused credits” amount. You can refer the below FAQ page of ours to know how to record a refund against a credit note.

Search across all estimate and invoice types in one search
When searching - Allow a search to find a key word(s) in any field across all kinds of invoices or estimates - draft, paid and so on.
I went searching for a word I knew was in the Item field but it did not find it. I had to search for it one by one. I want to search everything in one window.

“Advanced search” is the solution you are looking for :)
Yes, when you login to Zoho Invoice, you would be able to view a search bar at the top. If you click on the small drop-down that appears next to the magnifier icon, all the modules of Zoho Invoice would be listed. Choose a module and select the “Advanced search” option.
In the pop-up that follows, you can search for any transaction based on any of the criteria mentioned there.
