Allow barcode verification that correct items/quantities are being packed.
When packing items using the New Package screen it isn't possible to scan product barcodes as you pack them to verify you have the correct product.
At present you have to read the product name/SKU in the list and trust that you've done several critical steps correctly. 1. Read/picked the right item. 2. Read/picked the right quantity. 3. Haven't skipped past any products. Normal human error means that those errors will happen over and over.
There is a hack where you can store the barcode in the SKU field and use the ‘Select/scan items’ function, but there are multiple problems with this. 1. You can’t use the SKU field for the SKU. 2. If the quantity is more than one it registers the whole quantity as packed when you scan the first item. 3. It hides the list of items to pack when you switch on ‘Select/scan items’.
This should be a very simple function to build. 1. Allow the scan to match the barcode fields. 2. Only increment the quantity scanned, not the whole quantity of that SKU. 3. Show the list of items that are packed and still to be packed (somehow you need to know what to pack).
Even better have a function like this that has two lists, showing what is still to pack, and what is packed. https://youtu.be/EsqJiFlHXkE?t=99
I would like to have a work flow whereby our warehouse person views the list of sales orders to be packaged. She picks one then clicks Create Package, from there she walks through the warehouse picking and scanning until the order is picked.
A related wish that I’ll post separately is that Zia tells you what size box to take so you can pack straight into the carton.

This functionality would be very useful for drop-shippers like us who receive orders for multiple units !
