Overhaul the UPS Shipping Integration - We Cannot Use It As Is
Your Inventory UPS integration may work for a company that ships 1 package for each Sales Order, but it cannot be used by companies like mine that often ship several boxes for a Sales Order. Here are the limitations that force us to work directly with UPS shipping tools outside Zoho.
Shipments Integration Module
There is no way to clone or reuse the Shipment information to a new Shipment. We should be able to reuse weight, dimensions, and preferences. Some of our items ship separately in their own box, and if a customer buys 15 of them, we are forced to enter the same information over and over. If a Sales Order requires 10 UPS labels, we should be able to ship all ten with a single button.
There is no ability to create “Standard Box Sizes”. We should be able to create our own standard shipping boxes so that we do not have to keep entering box size information on every single shipment.
There is no ability to ship UPS Ground when a UPS Express box is selected. We currently ship ground on express boxes on a daily basis. You should remove that built in limitation. UPS does not care if we ship ground on an express box. Or, you should provide us with #2 and this issue goes away.
Phone number is required by the shipment module, but the address on the customer record does not require placing a phone number on it. Phone is not even required when you edit the address inside the shipping module. There is no preference to set this field as required. It sucks to get all the way into a shipment only to find that the address does not have a phone.
You cannot create a simple UPS shipping label. You always have to have a Sales Order and a Package created. Sometimes we need the ability to just create a quick UPS label. This is not possible with your integration.
Rates given are standard counter rates. We need to see the negotiated rates from our UPS account.
Only ONE UPS account can be associated with your integration, we have two that we need to use.
There is no ability to select or enter a 3rd party UPS account. Many of our customers ask us to use their UPS account. This is not possible.
Shipping Label Produced
There is no button to print it. It should have the ability to print that label directly from the screen
The download saves a PNG which is useless when trying to print to a printer. It should be saved as a PDF and the PDF layout should be something that can be set. Sometimes we print to our UPS Zebra printer, sometimes we print to a full size printer that requires the label to be printed on ½ of an 8.5 x 11 sheet that has two labels on it.
Package Geometry Tool
- Is only useful if we can store our commonly used box sizes. Otherwize we have to keep re-entering our box dimensions. The should be the same standard box sizes that the shipping module stores – see #2 in the shipping module issues.
