Include feature option for back dated subscription in zoho subscriptions.
Include feature option for back dated subscription in zoho subscriptions.
We’ve finally released this long-awaited feature: creating backdated subscriptions!
While creating a subscription, you can now select an activation date previous to the present date to create a backdated subscription. You can do this from the API as well.
This can be especially useful when you’re manually recording subscriptions days after you’ve made a sale. Also, if you’re migrating your existing subscriptions from another system, this can prove essential.

Its kind of deal breaker for us if we can not have back dated subscription.

We're migrating and are a SAAS company and are stuck without being able to set up our existing subscriptions (historical subscriptions, too).

For migration as well, would not want to generate notifications or invoices for the past.
We migrated with subscriptions that start in the future we're running into a problem where system is not able to generate and email the invoice automatically for our "collect offline" customers X days prior to their subscription start date since their subscription hasn't technically started yet in Zoho. If we could back date these subscriptions so that the reminder emails with their first invoice could be properly triggered prior to their renewal date we would be ok.

For a migrations sake only insertion via API is needed (without past dates notification/invoicing)

If you plan to migrate from an existing system it is a MUST. We cannot wait until the end of the subscription to migrate it, it would take us years to migrate our customers and during that period we would have metrics split in both systems.
We only need to create it, no invoices, no notifications no nothing else needs to be triggered when creating it

This is ideal. We need to be able to start a subscription before today's date. We occasionally get late notice from a third party that a subscription was activated as we work with multiple vendors and agents. We currently have to create the subscription for start of next month and manually invoice from Books for the difference, whereas we should simply be able to select a date from the past. If that date happens to fall on a previous month, it should invoice for both months.
