When creating an Estimate, it would be really helpful to add sections with sub totals.
Our Estimates are often presented based on rooms/areas. Each area has a number of items contained within it. Our clients want to be able to see their estimates presented in 'sections'.
1) Perhaps introduce 'section header rows'. Which are simply text labels to better present/group items on an estimate.
2) Add sub totals for every section, with the option to display a cost summary at the bottom, listing each section total and a grand total.6 votes
Add a column in estimates and invoices that will allow for markup to be added for each line item individually.
The markup column is not to show in printed form.6 votes
We would like to be able to change the word Estimates to quotations in the client portal. We are currently able to do this on the estimate template but not on the navigation labels in the client portal.
Our products have fixed prices and therefore the term estimates is misleading.
It would be great if we had control of this to adjust accordingly.
I would like any Notes we write in the Customer notes box of the Estimate to be carried over to the Sales Order when converted. At present this does not happen6 votes
I love the idea of being able to send estimates/invoices for eSigning. However, I feel the usefulness of this is limited because customers must first sign up for the client portal and navigate through the portal to find the estimate and eSign it. The portal lacks customizability and using it could be confusing for customers who just need to sign a document. I would suggest keeping this functionality intact for those who use the portal, but adding document eSigning for customers who don't have access to the portal. It would function much like the native Zoho Sign process. The customer clicks the sign/approve link in the email and it brings up Zoho Sign, where he/she can review the document and quickly eSign. In my experience, this would be much more helpful than currently implemented.
I'm not a developer, but I would think adding the non-portal signing option would be fairly simple, as this would simply tap into Zoho Sign's current functionality. Books could just send the document and customer information to Sign, where Sign could send the document as part of its normal functionality. As of now, I must download every estimate as a PDF from Books and upload to Sign as a new document, coping over customer information, etc. It would also be extremely helpful for Sign to tell Books when an invoice has been approved/signed. Similar workflows could be dramatically improved by this integration.

To have the ability to ROLL UP / HIDE Line Items.
We manufacture bespoke products, that are made up of individual parts,
We do not want to SHOW the individual parts or their cost.
However the cost will still be added to the total on the estimate

I'd like to discount at item level, and still easily adjust every item's discount together (i.e. 20% across the board).
This would make it easy to make changes for key items only (cost of gas, reimbursements, etc.) without needing to make too many customizations in the Totals section or send a second invoice.6 votes

Add additional permissions for estimates which would restrict an estimator to only be able to see estimates they created/their department creates or that they are given access to. This is currently not possible and different parts of our business are segregated, we do not want all estimators seeing every single job in the business.6 votes
I wish I could customize my templates. For example for an estimate, I have a template for a proposal in monthly or annual. The sales conditions change. I would also like to add columns on the quote for a monthly subtotal and then an annual subtotal on the same line.6 votes
Allow for renaming certain modules in Zoho Books (And Zoho finance showing in Zoho CRM integration). Real example: rename the name of modules such as "Estimates" in Zoho Books, for seamless Organization adoption as some organizations really call it Quotes.5 votes
Make it so I can include in the estimate the difference between a one-time cost and a reoccurring cost. And have this be a check box when adding a new item into Books.

While estimate creations, clients like to get a single quotation for multiple options, so I suggest to add sub total options.
Eg option 1 will have 2 3 items that I can subtotal, option 2 will have 3 4 item then their sub totals5 votes

Can you let us to categorize the Estimate with the functions to be more clear for customers for example :
I am working in smart home solutions and need to categorize the estimate for Lighting section to contain all lighting equipments and HVAC to contain all materials it need and so on just one bar line to identify the content of the following items

There is only one option for page numbers and it puts the number way to the right of the template. The footer should include a placeholder for page and total pages so we can display them. It would look like "Page 1 of 3".5 votes
