Ability to Send Requests for Quotes
It would be really nice if I could send Requests for Quote on items that I need built. That way I can always get the best price without having to email and manage bunch of people/inconsistent responses.
This would be under:
- Recurring Expenses
- Request for Quote
- Purchase orders
The template would be similar to a PO. It would just pull in my vendor contacts and my vendor part#. Then all I would need to do is attach a drawing then send it to a group of vendors. They could email me bids. Then when I know the prices I can switch the RFQ to a PO and send it out to be manufactured.
This would make all my purchasing much easier. This would save me time and money.
I am willing to pay for this service attachment, and I think others would like it as well.
Urgently needed!!! 5 years and where is it?
I have a requirement much similar to yours. Were you able to manage the process in Zoho ?

Another vote for this- right now we solicit quotes by email but it would be much nicer to be able to to send RFQs, especially because then we could keep the price quoted information in Zoho and refer back to it later when it is time to purchase.
We recently set up an RFQ template as another user suggested, and send out that template but save it as a draft PO. It seems to work, when I would rather have a separate section like estimates on the sales side.

I also need this feature. I'm currently doing what another user described: made a custom PO template renamed to Proposal Request and I'm managing them that way. It's inefficient. I would like this built into CRM or books.

Sounds like you have created a great work around for quote requests. Thanks for sharing.
Please could you let me know if the RFQ feature was built yet by Zoho
when I can expect this feature to be available
It's really what I need too and was searching for it. Hope it can be done soon
I have made a custom template in the PO module that looks like a PO but is titled as Request for Quote. I create a new PO that lists the items I want quoted, I change the PO number leading letter to a Q (ie, QO-00001) and assign my customer RFQ template to it. I then change the number back to a normal PO number (ie, PO-00001) if I want to change the Quote to a PO. It isn't perfect, but works for me...

This is similar to a tender process in south africa. THen you would be able to make different templates for different types of Quote Requests that the vendors can simply fill out via their portal access - seems like a good request.
